...Parijs Tour...

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

So, this is journal on my trip to Paris. I went to Paris with my China colleague Errant. So happy to go with her coz she is a great companion during the travels ;)

We depart from Breda, Netherlands bus station at about 11.30 p.m on Friday and reach Gallieni bus station, Paris at about 5.30 a.m. Then we took subway to our hotel at Bastille. Bastille itself is another tourist port.

Then, after we put our bags, we started our own tour around. First, of course we stop at a coffee shop to have breakfast. A young Parisians guy works there and he gave us a warm welcome and show us the ways on the map. And he speaks English!! Lucky us. We gave him some tips of course. Well, in France, it's kinda norm to give tips after you pay for your food.

Then we decided to walk to Louvre museum. Err..it's not that near but we did not feel that tired walking as we enjoy all the view. On the way, we stop at Notre Dame. We went inside and I enjoyed the architecture of the building. After that we proceed to Louvre Museum. On the way, we pass trough a beautiful canal and we decided that we should have a canal trip later.

I am feeling so eager to reach the Louvre Museumat the time. Knows why? Because I'm a fan of The Da Vinci Code book and for those who have read the book knows that the  story began at this very Louvre Museum. And so we walked inside the compound and once I saw the pyramids (again, from The DaVinci code book), I'm like jumping and saying "That's the one. That's the pyramids mentioned in the book" Unfortunately, Errant did not know about the book. But we share the enjoyment together. Then we went inside the museum and have our own museum tour ( I'm even looking for the Grand gallery as well, where the grandfather's body lying. I even try to imagine the whole things. I'm not that fanatic, am i? ). The museum is really huge and has lots and lots of painting. Although I would say, most of the people they painted are not wearing too much of cloths. Or even at all.

The pyramids

We can't miss to look at the Mona Lisa painting. There's a of people in front of her .I was at the back of the crowd when suddenly people in front of me disperse one by one. What a miracle! Maybe she wants to meet me. Hehehehehe…I got the chance to look front to front with the painting and was thinking to myself, what's so special about her. Never find the answer though. We spend more than 3 hours at the museum.

After that, we went to a beautiful park nearby the museum and have our tea. Sitting at the park drinking tea beside a beautiful pond with birds swimming in it is , haaaa, so breathtaking.

Then, we went to Palais de Chaillot and Eiffel tower. We got to see the Eiffel tower during day and also at night. The view is, masyaAllah, amazing! We did not go up the tower that day cause we were feeling tired and I'm kinda having bad headache (from lack of sleep I guess) After having our dinner, we went back to the hotel to get some rest.

On day two, we started our journey at Madeleine street. I followed Errant to visit the Madeleine church. Then we walk and walk and visit the Opera house and International Music Academy.  After that we took subway to go to the famous Arc de Triomphe. The arc is spectacular. In front of the arc is the street where besides of the street are all the famous shopping places. We had our lunch at a restaurant and we spend like 2 hours there because the food is good. From the main course to desert. Then we visit the infamous LV shop. We did buy anything though becoz I think I'm not a LV type of person. Luckily!!

Then we again took subway to go for our canal trip. It's very enjoyable. Cruising the canal with gentle wind flowing. Our luck, we got to see two rainbows side by side. It's a fantastic view. I haven't see two rainbows side by side and very near before.

After that we visit the Palais Royal. After that, we rush to Eiffel Tower. As the day before we haven't got the chance to go up. Luckily, there are not many people there and getting the tickets are very easy. We decided that we will go to the second tier as it is the middle between the three tier and we can't see our surrounding more clearly. The view? What more can I say. Big Smile We went up at night and the view are so so so beautiful. I remember saying to Errant, I still can't believe I'm in Paris.

Then, I took the bus back to Netherland that midnight and reach Breda early in the morning.

Alhamdulillah. My words can't describe what I feel during my Europe trip. I used to dream about it and now it has become reality. Thank you Allah for this chance.

I decided that I don’t really like to use flickr as I can’t make lots of sets.
